The Big Blogger Expo

Sunday 24th July was the Big Blogger Expo held at the Danibus Hotel near Regents Park. I was excited about this event as it was my first ever blogger event. It was also great to go with my friend and fellow blogger Shannon (check her out at

First up was Bonnie Boo Gifts, a newly launched brand. Bonnie Boo Gifts feature hampers for newborn babies, which are all high quality and hand packed. This makes a great gift to give when you’re unsure of what to get and also a great gift to receive to receive a wider variety of products. Everything looked so cute on this stand.

Next up was Two Three. I loved how the name was inspired by the two sisters who founded the brand being the 2nd and 3rd out of 4 daughters. This is all about fashion for bold, confident women.

Jewellery Box

Jewellery Box was my favourite display, I loved how put together everything was and how the pieces all complemented each other. The jewellery is all either sterling silver or 9ct gold. Everything also appeared to be such good quality at affordable prices. I loved the tinkerbell necklace and all of the rings.

Juvadent offer high quality Botox and Dermal Fillers based in Chelsea, London. This was the first time I had heard of treatment for excessive under arm sweating, which given it lasts for about 8 months considering the winter months would only need to be done once a year.

Living Proof

This is a patented brand that features no silicone. The dry shampoo smelt amazing and makes the hair look straighter and tames frizz.

Dr Paw Paw

Having heard the name Dr Paw Paw before but with limited knowledge it was interesting to learn more about the products. Dr Paw Paw is a fragrance free balm that can be used for anything from cracked heels, for cheeks, flyaway hairs, for moisturising lips and so many other uses. Great for having a product on the go small enough for your bag.

Jody Belle

There were a wide range of outfits on view at a very popular stand, which are hand made in Spain. There was quite a buzz around this stand with excitement.

Heaven Skincare by Deborah Mitchell

Heaven skincare are the inventors behind the bee venom mask. We were able to sample one of the cleansers called the cleanse and foam wash which smelt really fresh from the mandarin scents.

4 You By You

When I was a student I remember the times of being on a budget. Bringing beauty to students on a budget is such a great concept. Scott founded 4 you by you on his placement year I was so impressed by his passion and drive. This is a concept where it’s run by students for students. Learning about the different products from instant effects was great too as Scott was so informative. I was definitely interested in the instant lash which increases the thickness of lashes by up to 20%!

Brandbassador is all about creating a platform to engage with brands, which is invitation only. There are missions to be completed such as following brandbassador on twitter which add up to points and points equal perks. This stand also featured pieces from onepiece which focuses on slackwear great for lazy Sundays.

Borough Box

A London based company – Borough Box had a wide selection of hampers on view and with samples to taste. Everything seemed to be really good quality and these would make perfect gifts!

Big thank you to Lauren and Abi for organising and for all of the brands for taking the time to show us their great products!

Summer shoe haul

Although I love shopping shoe shopping is not top of my favourite things to shop for as I often find i’m between sizes or can’t find shoes that are completely comfortable. However, having shopped at Shoe Zone previously I decided to pop in for a pair of shoes and came out with a few extras, as you do.

If you haven’t heard/shopped at Shoe Zone before here are some of the perks:

  • Free returns to store for 12 months – this must be the first time I’ve heard of this!
  • Free click and collect
  • Express delivery free if you spend £30+ or £1.99 if you don’t spend +£30
  • 10% student discount – with a valid student ID

I first came across Shoe Zone as I used to buy shoes from a brand called Lilley from Stead & Simpson and traced them back to Shoe Zone which bought Stead & Simpson. I actually unintentionally bought all the pair of shoes from the Lilley Brand and all are so comfortable and well fitting and at great price points for the good quality.

Lilley Womens Nude Ballerina with Bow

Shoe Zone have a wide selection of ballerina pumps and run a great 2 for £10 offer across select pairs as well. I picked up these as I felt they’d go with many of my outfits. They were also a steal at £4.99 reduced from £7.99.

Lilley Womens Tan Cross Strap Plaited Mule Sandal

I initially thought that these looked a bit strange with the sole but it turns out this is actually a breathable insole which also makes the sandals extra comfortable in hot weather. I did go one size up on these as I felt I just needed that extra little room at the back.

Lilley Womens Black Lace Up Wedge Sandal

I liked how different these shoes looked to anything that I have currently got. There is lovely caged detailing to the ankle and they have a slight wedge heel to them.

With these flower sandals from Lilley I couldn’t quite decide which colour to get so I went for both. Comfortable if you’re looking for more of a flat sole heel these would go great with a wide range of outfits.

Lilley Womens Beige Flower Wedge Sandal

Last but not least I purchased these flower wedge sandals, which have a low wedge heel. I like how neutral they are to wear with a range of outfits.

All of these shoes fitted so well and are all so comfortable. I would recommend Shoe Zone if you are looking for good value shoes – plus if you change your mind the returns period is pretty generous!

OOTD Boutique of Molly Paisley Playsuit

When Boutique of Molly reached out to me for a collaboration I jumped at the chance due to the gorgeous pieces available on the website.

The website is easy to navigate around and delivery was made pretty quickly in a lovely pink package.

I love playsuits as I just find them so comfortable so I opted for the Paisley Print High Neck Playsuit as I loved the lace up detailing to the back and the print. I ordered this in a size 10 and it was true to size. The playsuit feels very comfortable to wear and is a good length as well (I’m roughly 5’4″ for reference). There is also a zip at the back below the lace up detailing. I liked this playsuit so much it was my outfit of choice to the Big Blogger Expo as well.

It’s worth really unloosening the back before you try and take it off or you can get tangled. Otherwise this is a good quality, true to size playsuit.

Please note that I received a discount on this purchase but all opinions are my own.

Nivea Men Sensitive Post-Shave Balm Review

So I finally picked up the Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm after hearing so much hype about it I wanted to see what the fuss was about.

This originally came to light as being used as a primer from the Youtube guru NikkieTutorials.

This retails for £5.35 in Boots for 100ml but currently on sale at Superdrug for slightly cheaper. This contains Vitamin E and the ingredients Bisabolol and Calendula which both work to calm the skin. Most importantly it also contains Glycerin which encourages other products to stick to the surface of it.

This is relatively runny when tipped out so you don’t need to use so much. As per the below photo this is just a standard bottle with no pump so be gentle when tipping out.

It feels very lightweight on the skin. Once applied to your face I’d recommend leaving it to sit for a little while until it goes slightly tacky. It does have a manly smell (which I guess can be expected from a men’s skincare product!) but once make up is applied this smell disappears.

Once I applied my foundation over the top of this I did find that it blended in easier and it gave my face a radiant glow. However, after just a few hours I became oily around my T-Zone especially around my nose area. I also found that it had settled into the fine lines around my mouth. Therefore, I’d use this product again but it wouldn’t make it onto my go to list of primers. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a primer that won’t break the bank.

  • Fraction of the price of other primers
  • Feels very lightweight on the skin
  • Absorbs very quickly

  • Runny texture – may be better to transfer to a pump bottle for less messier use
  • Lasting power not great for oilier skin

Overall I’d give this a 6/10.

Current Playlist

Just thinking about how much I love to listen to music has got me wanting to share my top played songs.

I listen to music when I’m getting ready, when I’m travelling, when I’m working, when I’m blogging, when I’m working out, when I’m cooking. Is there such a thing as listening to too much music? I also like having music videos on in the background occasionally. I love how it can just change your mood.

Back when I was 15 I had the studded belt, black vest top look and I loved listening to the likes of Green Day and Good Charlotte. These days I’m all about a variety of music.

So here’s my current top 10 most listened to songs – some of these are slightly older now but I just can’t get enough of them!

  • Faded – Alan Walker
  • Please Don’t Go – Joel Adams
  • Dancing On My Own – Calum Scott
  • Love’s On The Way – Sebastian Kole
  • 7 Years – Lukas Graham
  • First – Cold War Kids
  • Roses – The Chainsmokers
  • I Took A Pill In Ibiza – Mike Posner
  • Send My Love (To Your New Lover) – Adele
  • This Is What You Came For – Calvin Harris, Rihanna

Live performances I would recommend catching up on (wish I was there in person to enjoy these!):

Adele at Glastonbury – loved her comments in between the singing so down to earth as always!

Calvin Harris at T in the Park – can really tell the energy in the crowd was crazy!

What’s on your playlist, please feel free to share any recommendations of new songs I can try listening to 🙂
